Trailer Hydraulic Disc Brake Assembly
Trailer Hydraulic Disc Brake Assembly:
1. Brake Disc: The brake disc is the core component of the brake system, typically made of cast iron or alloy materials. It rotates coaxially with the wheel. When braking, the brake pads inside the brake caliper clamp the brake disc, generating friction to slow down or stop the vehicle.
2. Brake Caliper: The brake caliper is fixed to both sides of the brake disc and contains brake pads. When hydraulic pressure is applied to the caliper, it clamps the brake disc, causing the brake pads to contact the disc and generate braking force.
3. Brake Pads: Brake pads are the friction material inside the brake caliper, typically made of asbestos, ceramic, or other synthetic materials. They contact the brake disc during braking, generating friction.
4. Hydraulic Lines: Hydraulic lines transmit the force from the brake pedal to the brake calipers. When the driver depresses the brake pedal, hydraulic fluid flows through the lines to the caliper, generating pressure that causes the caliper to clamp the brake disc.
6. Brake Fluid: Brake fluid is the medium in a hydraulic braking system. It flows through the brake lines, transmitting pressure. Brake fluid needs to be changed regularly to ensure its performance and the reliability of the braking system.
7. Brake Sensors: Some modern braking systems are equipped with sensors to monitor brake pad wear. When the brake pads wear to a certain extent, a warning will be issued to the driver.
8. Brake Mounting Brackets: Brake mounts are used to secure the brakes to the vehicle's suspension system, ensuring brake stability during driving.
